My best friend recently lost her Siberian Husky. He disappeared from the yard at midnight when he was let out to use the restroom. They hunted for him all through the night and into the next morning. She was devestated as he was the love of her life and she didn't know what she would do without him. She found him just a few blocks away about 12 hours later with his nose pointed home. He was coming home. He had been hit by a car and left. When I say he had been left it is with a bitter taste in my mouth because Klondike had been tatoo'd, microchipped, and he had several tags on with identifying information for just the occasion of him possibly getting lost. All the precautions had been put into place by a woman who loved her dog with all she had! There was NO reason for her to find him like that and no reason for him to die alone. The person that left him there never even cared enough to look for identification or to call his family. The person that left him was heartless! I wanted to create this webpage to help others that might lose their family pet because I know how important they are to our lives. I, myself, lost 4 of my 4 legged children this year; 3 to old age and one to a car as well. I know how important they are to our lives. I know how devestating it is to lose them. Pets give us something that no one else can give us. Unconditional love! It does not matter if you have had a bad day and come home grumpy. It doesn't matter if you didn't have time for them. It doesn't matter if you lost your temper and yelled at them. It doesn't matter. They love you anyway. Where else can you get that kind of love? It is perfection. They are there for you when you are lonely. They are there for you when you are sad. They are there when you are hurt, or angry, or happy, or playful, or any other mood or condition you can come home to them in. All they know is love for the person that they belong to or that belongs to them. It is a love like no other and if you are lucky enough to have it and to understand it, you know how precious it is and how hard it is to lose. For that reason, I wanted to create a way for people in the Wichita area to be able to post their loss in hopes of being able to find their beloved pet and bring them home. So, please post as much information about your pet as possible in order for someone to be able to contact you and bring your pet home to you. Don't forget to include a full description and contact information. If possible include information as to where your pet was lost and when. If you have a photo of your pet, I would be glad to post it if you would send it to me. I will leave information up for 30 days to give your pet a chance to find its way home. At that time I will remove the post so that the page doesn't get to crowded and old information is not still listed. If your pet still hasn't found its way home, you can relist by resubmitting the information.

Wonderful program called Get Me Home allows you to register your pet's and your information in a data base and then link it to a tag (via an id number) that you put on your pet's collar. If your pet is lost and someone finds it, they can access the database via the internet and get your contact information to get your pet back to you. It is all FREE! Very neat program. Get a free tag for your pet from your local vet and register here www.getmehome.com.
